LAN Scan Privacy Policy
Local network processing
When you start a scan, LAN Scan examines the current Wi-Fi or Ethernet IPv4 network, capped at the device's current /24 segment. It transiently processes local IP addresses, TCP ports, optional reverse-DNS hostnames, HTTP response codes and page titles so it can show discovered web interfaces.
Page verification
For each open web-oriented port, the app may request the root path and read at most 64 KiB in memory to determine whether a page responds and to extract a short title. It sends no login credentials, cookies or authorisation data, follows no redirects, and does not save the page body.
The Google Play edition validates HTTPS certificates using Android's normal security checks. When a local service presents an untrusted certificate, the app reports that the port is reachable but does not retrieve its page content.
Information visible to network services
A device you probe, its operator, and ordinary network infrastructure can observe normal connection metadata such as your device's local IP address, connection time, destination port, requested path and LAN Scan user-agent. Optional hostname lookups use the DNS service already configured for your network, whose operator may observe those DNS queries.
Collection, sharing and retention
The developer does not receive, collect, sell or share scan results or personal data. LAN Scan includes no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or third-party tracking SDK. The app has no account and keeps no persistent scan history, so there is no developer-held data to delete.
Permissions and responsible use
The app uses Android Internet and network-state permissions solely for the user-initiated functions described above. Scan only networks you own or are authorised to test.
